Music and the Sound Mind
Presenter: Nina Kraus, PhD
Making sense of sound is one of the hardest jobs we ask our brains to do. Dr. Nina Kraus explores the power of music for healing and describes why musicians have measurably better sound minds. Biological evidence shows that music enhances our emotional processing, thinking, movements, and sensory function. The sounds of our lives shape our brains and help us build our sonic world.
Dr. Kraus will discuss and answer questions about her 2022 book, Of Sound Mind. Participants are encouraged to read the book prior to the webinar. You can find the book on Amazon or at Bookends and Beginnings in downtown Evanston.
